Eight months after its blessing and inauguration, the San Pablo Cathedral’s Grand Mechanical Pipe Organ - the largest of its kind in the country - will be having its first-ever concert on November 26, Wednesday.
The event will be graced by a renowned Pipe Organist from Belgium, Mr. Luc Ponet, who has also performed last week at the inaugural concert of the newly-enhanced Manila Cathedral Pipe Organ. He will be accompanied by other guest-performers and musicians.
The Cathedral Parish of St. Paul the First Hermit aims through this kind of event to form a culture of pipe organ music in churches within San Pablo and in the diocese as well. For centuries, the Church has always given special regard for the pipe organ as the most suitable musical instrument for liturgical worship.
The event will be made possible through the partnership of Diego Cerra Organ builders, local government tourism offices, and the San Pablo Cathedral Pipe Organ Foundation.
